Sorry we haven't posted in a while....

Hi Yall,
We are sorry we haven't written anything in a couple of days but we have had a strange turn of events. We are currently staying at a hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. Christine had been experiencing severe chest pains, and after stopping at the ER here, we were informed that she has a pulmonary embolism in her left lung. She is fine now and in good spirits, and we will be staying here over the next few days as she is treated and the clot dissolves. We should then be able to return home over the course of a few more days. No one needs to be worried or anything, we just wanted to let yall know what has happened.

We are very grateful for the amazing staff here at Mercy Medical Center and for all the blessings we have experienced in the midst of all this. God has certainly been looking out for us. Needless to say, we will not be continuing the blog. We greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers, and hope to see many of you soon!

You can find me in St. Looooouuuiiis.....

Welcome back faithful followers. We cannot tell you how much of an adventure today has been. It is a pleasant experience to recap this day to you, dear readers, over a cup of hot tea in the beautiful Central West End of St. Louis. The atmosphere here is really great; its a great mix of all kinds of interesting people, great historic buildings, wonderful food, amazing weather, and most importantly the fabulous Katherine Eleanor Osburn. I just get a good vibe about this city and would love to come back some day and visit for more than a few hours.

Truly I tell you, there is too much to recount of the day's trials, tribulations and jubilations for us to do right now. Frankly they have worn us out. But look out tomorrow night for a double-whammy post (since tomorrow, Thursday, we will be driving 13 hours to the Badlands in South Dakota).

.... check out The Badlands National Park at www.nps.gov/badl/

We do pray for a much smoother day tomorrow.

We leave in eight hours...

We know, we know...another travel blog. But this is no typical travel blog, for you have never been road-trippin' with the McFaddens. And honestly, we haven't really either. In fact, we just decided Monday that we'd leave Wednesday (about eight hours from current posting time) for a 13 day road trip out west. So, needless to say, things will be interesting.

Will we find campsites?

Will Luke wrestle a bear?

Will we be brave enough to hike Angels Landing?

Will we make it back in time for classes? (Brian Blaker would say, according to McFadden time, no.)

So we're excited. You're excited. And America's Excited. Because Luke and Christine are about to put Lewis and Clark to shame...sans Sacagawea or a GPS.

We'll post again tomorrow night from our first stop in St. Louis, where the lovely Katie Osburn has invited us into her new home.

Stayed tuned, because things WILL get awesome.
